National Mid-term conference of ISPGHAN – 2023 was a massive platform to learn from who’s who of paediatric gastroenetrology.
Conference was held on 17th and 18th June 2023 in Hotel Radisson Blu , Mysore , Karnataka.
This was also the first national conference on paediatric gastroenterology in Karnataka.
Day 1 of the conference was an elaborate discussion on paediatric IBD which covered a wide range of interesting topics like Imaging concepts of CT and MR enterography, newer molecules like Tofacitinib , case based discussions .
Focus on day 2 of the conference was on common gastroenetrology topics like functional abdominal pain, chronic diarrhoea, cow milk protein allergy which help the general paediatricians.
The conference was attended both physically and online by more than 200 delegates and was well appreciated.
Inaugural function was graced by the Maharaja of Mysore His Highness Yaduveer Krishnaraja Chamaraja Wadiyar .His succinct speech on evolution of medical field in Karnataka was a matter of pride. Dr Santosh Soans, past national president of IAP was the guest of honor. On the dais were Dr Neelam Mohan, President ISPGHAN, Dr S.K. Yachha, patron of the conference, Dr Ravish, President IAP Mysore, Dr Mothi SN President elect IAP Karnataka and Dr Aathira Ravindranath, Organizing secretary.
Classical dance -Bharatanatyam performance by students of Champaka Dance Academy was an epitome of grace and talent.
Quiz for the post graduate students was conducted by Dr Srinivas Sankaranarayanan. First prize of Rs 10, 000 was bagged by Dr Akshay and Dr Praful from IGICH, Bangalore
2nd prize- Dr Jeneesh and Dr Agnel from CMC vellore and 3rd prize- Dr Nishma & Dr Amrutha from Mysore medical College.
Organising committee consisted of organising secretary-Dr Aathira Ravindranath, treasurer- Dr Srikanth K.P and other members included Dr Nagendra Kumar, Dr Sahana Shankar, Dr Prasad B.S, Dr Shruthi Badarinath.
Commendable lectures on a wide variety of topics , great hospitality ,royal touch and cultural extravaganza made this conference one of a kind!
