The 5th Annual Conference Of Ispghan (indian Society Of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology And Nutrition)

28th Annual Meeting Of The Pediatric Gastroenterology Chapter Of The Iap Was Held On The 27th And 28th Of October At Hyatt Regency, Mumbai With A Pre-conference Meeting Of Case Scenarios On Genetic Liver Problems On The 26th Of October Which Was Telecast Live To Pediatricians All Over The Country.

The meeting which was organised by Children’s Liver Foundation and IAP, Mumbai had more than 500 registered delegates and a learned and enthusiastic faculty from India and abroad.

This was a joint effort of the two societies which have been organising the popular “Hepaticon” every year The pre-conference meeting had case scenarios with a genetics background being presented and discussed with a very interactive audience comprising of PG students, Pediatric Gastroenterologists, Pediatricians, Gastroenterologists, Geneticists and dieticians.

The two days of the conference had few didactic talks interspersed with panel discussions on a wide variety of topics which would be of interest to both the generalists and specialists including a panel discussion on the same theme which was moderated by Dr YK Amdekar, the Organising Chairperson of the meeting.

The inauguration moved away from the conventional lamp lighting to an eco-friendly planting trees online in the Sunderbans forests in the name of ISPGHAN 2018.
The meeting was formally inaugurated by Dr Armida Fernandes, senior Pediatrician and founder of the NGO – SNEHA that works on projects of health, nutrition and violence in women and children across the slums of Mumbai.

The highlight of the meeting was the eposter session which was the first for an ISPGHAN meeting and was a big success with more than a 100 abstracts received for the conference. The 9 th annual conference of Indian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and 32 nd annual conference if Gastroenterology chapter of Indian Academy of Pediatrics was held at Hotel Clarks Amer at Jaipur from 7-9 October 2022. This meeting was held after a gap of 2 years due to Covid epidemic and was attended by more than 400 participants comprising of faculty and delegates from India and abroad. The theme chosen for this meeting was “Gut and Liver – emerging trends”

The highlight of this meeting was arrangement of 5 parallel workshops for the first time ever in an ISPGHAN meeting. The workshops were on Basic endoscopy, Common therapeutic endoscopy, advanced diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, Nutrition and Radiology at different hospitals with more than 20 participants each in the three endoscopy workshops and more than 50 in Radiology and Nutrition workshops. All workshops were a full day from 10 am to 4 pm with an excellent feedback by participants.

Another highlight of this meeting was a huge numbers of abstracts received (more than 100) and there was enthusiastic participation in the plenary, poster and CP Mittal award papers. On the last day a parallel session was arranged in separate hall on topics relevant for a practicing pediatrician. All participants were touched by the warm hospitality provided by Ped Gastro Rajasthan and Indian
Academy of Pediatrics Jaipur team.

Joint 10th Annual meeting of Indian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition – ISPGHANCON 2023, the 33rd National Conference of Gastroenterology chapter of IAP and 18th CAPGAN conference was hosted in the city of Hyderabad at Park Hyatt Hotel, Banjara Hills from 26 th – 29 th October 2023.

This joint conference of ISPGHAN and CAPGAN was an academic extravaganza. More than 15 international faculties from all across the globe with a galaxy of national faculty of international repute shared their knowledge and expertise. The focus of the conference was discussion through series of lectures, panel discussion and debates on the latest developments and research going on around the world in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology. This conference also provided a unique opportunity to all our young budding Pediatric GI colleagues to not only to learn from the masters but also show case their academic talent. Various oral and poster
session in different categories in both ISPGHAN and CAPGAN provided them enough opportunity to present their research and love for academics. The 3 workshop on Advanced Endoscopy, GI Manometry and “EUS and GI Radiology” were conducted by renowned international experts in these fields. The academics was the main core but the conference also provide enough opportunity to renew old friendships and make new ones over banquet and cultural events spread over 3 days .
